From Affairs to Abuse: Gwalior Husbands File Complaints Against Wives

Gwalior: In an unusual turn of events, several men in Gwalior have approached the police seeking help against alleged harassment by their wives. These cases, which are on the rise, reflect a growing trend where husbands claim to be victims of domestic abuse and mental torture within their marriages.

Traditionally, cases of domestic violence have mostly involved women as complainants. However, in recent days, the Gwalior police have seen a noticeable increase in complaints filed by men. The reasons cited include physical assault by wives, extramarital affairs, emotional blackmail, and wives abandoning children and staying with their parents for long periods.

In one case, a husband alleged that his wife was having an affair outside the marriage. In another, a man reported being physically abused by his wife. Some husbands claimed they were being threatened, while others complained that their wives left home with the children and refused to return.

Senior police officials confirmed that such complaints are indeed rising and investigations are underway in several cases. The officials noted that men are now coming forward with evidence to support their claims and are requesting police action and legal assistance.

This growing number of complaints highlights the changing dynamics in domestic relationships and underlines the fact that men, too, can be victims of domestic distress. Authorities have assured that all cases will be investigated fairly, regardless of gender, and appropriate action will be taken based on the findings.
